The backgrounds have all looked great, they are a nice seasonal change. I have lurked some but not said much in a long time. Everything is ok with our two tiels. They are both about 14 now.
Our female, Mae, has to be on monthly lupron shots to keep her reproductive system from malfunctioning. They do the job and she is doing very well. She figured out how to remove the implant so monthly shots are the only option. Mae is daddy’s little princess, but she makes sure she gets me to pet and dote on her, too. She’s so sweet and trusting! We have had her almost 2 years now.
Cookie is doing great, he’s the boss, here, and has decided to be infatuated with my feet this year. He doesn’t approve of me wearing slippers or socks! This is a new rule of his, which he never had in the previous 4 or 5 years we’ve had him.
Every morning they get one or two quinoa noodles while I prepare their other food. They really love noodles! They pace and call as soon as they see signs that noodles are coming. (I freeze cooked noodles and microwave a few each morning.)
Cookie and Mae mostly ignore each other. They don’t fight nor are they friends. They do not like being separated, though.
As for the humans, my husband still works mostly from home and has less than 6 years until retirement now. I’m officially retired already, so not as productive in my artwork as before, but still participating in a few group shows a year.
We’re thankful for our own relatively good health. My husband and I both have elderly mothers in care homes and other relatives with declining age related health problems. We try to live more in the present and enjoy life, and make the most of our abilities while we still can. After 3 years I’m still cancer free, (knock on wood).
