Obviously, there are many variables to consider here however, allow me to get to the chase.
My experience, using myself as an example, when I was carpet cleaning it took me approx 2 1/2-3 years to get established. Within two years I started hiring. By the third year, I purchased my second van with my second machine.
The key here however, was the fact that I operated this business, as a business and went out calling on accounts/selling each and everyday. Following up constantly. Working days, and several evenings as well. Selling and cleaning!
I worked hard and earned every penny but it was worth it. A lot of sacrificing.
But, I realize a large majority of start-ups are not going to work as hard as I did because it takes a lot of discipline. The huge benefit was having such deep pride and the building of confidence.
Anyways, without writing a book, that's my answer!
