This post is in regards to my earlier post on 2/12/08 “1979 Mercury Cougar XR7 for parts or whole”
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am in the process of parting this car out. I'm going to grab anything that is good and send the rest of the car to the scrap yard. If anyone is interested in parts please let me know. I will be sending what's left of the car to that scrap yard the first weekend in May.
If anyone is interested in parts let me know.
Also, I have an extra header panel which is complete (bezels, grill, lenses, etc).

I’ve decided to give up my 1979 Mercury Cougar XR7. It’s gray with a maroon top and maroon interior. It has a 351W motor and a FMX transmission.
The car could either be parted-out or restored; however, the body is in need of attention. I wanted to restore the car myself but I haven’t had the time in years nor do I have anywhere to store it until I do. The car has been sitting in my driveway for the last few years. I would rather part the car out or sell it to someone who would like to restore it than to take it to the scrap yard.
I also have an extra header panel complete with ornament, grille, turn signal lenses, headlight bezels, and trim around the headlights and turn signals. I have a new heater core for this car but it has never been installed.
The rear bumper, mounting brackets and reinforcing bar behind the bumper were powder coated (bumper is star dust silver and the brackets and bar are black) about 7-8 years ago. The gas tank has some dents in it, however, it was fiber glassed about 7-8 years ago. It contains a new sending unit as well. I will either sell those with the car or individually if the car goes to the scrap yard. The same goes for the extra header panel, lenses and heater core.
The car is located in Ohio and would need to be picked up. I would like to have the car leave my driveway by 2/22/08. If there are no offers by then, it will be hauled off to the scrap yard.
